Smoking is one of the the biggest causes of death and illness in the UK - every year arounf 78,000 people die from smoking and many more people live with a smoking related illness (NHS.uk).
The effects of smoking are well-known but despite this there are still roughly 7.2 million smokers in the UK, with 58.4% wanting to quit (ons.gov.uk).

As an ex-nurse, working in the NHS for more than 15yrs, I have seen how damaging smoking can be and have witnessed first hand the long term effects.
Smoking is also an expensive habit with an average price of around £11 for a pack of 20.
Therefore a smoker of 15 per day will be spending on average £57.75 a week on cigarettes - over £3000 a year.
